Day 1: SANDAKAN
ARRIVAL IN SANDAKAN
Meet and greet with your nature guide at Sandakan Airport and transfer to a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, proceed with transfer to Resort for Check in free & easy at client own leisure.

SEPILOK ORANG UTAN, SUN BEAR & PROBOSCIS MONKEYS
Day 2: SEPILOK NATURE
After breakfast, transfer to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, watching one of nature’s most endangered animal species, the ‘Orang Utan’ or ‘Man of the Jungle’ , swinging from branches towards the feeding station. Watch the scheduled video show (25 minutes) and visit the Exhibition Hall. Then, take a leisure walk to the Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Lunch en route at Sepilok Nature Lodge.
After lunch, transfer to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary for close-up views of proboscis monkeys and other wildlife such as Silver Leaf Monkeys, Pig-tailed Macaques, Hornbills, Otters, Woodpeckers, and Kingfishers. Transfer back to lodge/resort for dinner and leisure. Overnight at Sepilok Nature Lodge or Similar, Sandakan

Day 3: TURTLE ISLAND
SELINGAN TURTLE ISLAND EXPERIENCE
After breakfast, depart by 0815 hrs to CQ Jetty for Selingan Turtle Island (1 hour by motorized boat). After lunch, enjoy snorkeling or relaxing on the beach. Before dinner, attend a slide show on turtle conservation. After dinner, wait for Park Ranger’s signal to witness egg-laying, egg transfer to the hatchery, and hatchling release.

KINABATANGAN WETLANDS & SUNSET RIVER CRUISE
Day 4: KINABATANGAN
After breakfast, depart Island by 0700hrs to mainland, then walk 3 minutes to Sandakan Yacht Club Jetty. Transfer by boat (1.5 hrs) to Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort, passing Berhala Island. Check in, coffee, banana fritters, and briefing. Free at leisure.
At 1600hrs, afternoon refreshments, then board a boat for a wildlife river cruise. Enjoy sunset scenery, possible fireflies, and return for dinner at 2030hrs. After dinner, guided night walk along the boardwalk for insects and nocturnal wildlife.

Day 5: OX-BOW LAKE
OX-BOW LAKE, FISHING VILLAGE & NIGHT CRUISE
Early morning cruise to observe more wildlife and birdlife. Cruise to the nearby ox-bow lake, Danau Pitas, to explore the area. Enjoy your packed breakfast while admiring the natural surroundings. Continue on to Kampung Abai, a fishing village, to interact with the local Orang Sungai (River People) and observe daily activities.
Return to lodge for rest and lunch. Explore resort grounds for plants and insects, with birding opportunities.

TRANSFER TO LAHAD DATU & RAINFOREST WALK
Day 6: LAHAD DATU
After breakfast, check out and overland to Lahad Datu, passing regenerating forests to virgin rainforests. Upon arrival, register at DVCA Reception & Information Building, then check in after briefing by DVFC staff. Lunch at the Dining Hall. Afternoon free or a guided walk around the centre, an introduction to the rainforest.
Wildlife spotting may include orangutans, red leaf monkeys, sambar deer, hornbills. After dinner (1900hrs), enjoy a guided 4×4 night drive (weather permitting) in search of nocturnal wildlife.

Day 7: MENARA
TREK TO THE WORLD'S TALLEST TROPICAL TREE
After breakfast, depart by 0800hrs for a trek to the World’s Tallest Tropical Tree,
“Menara,” a Shorea Faguetiana (Yellow Meranti/Seraya Kuning Siput), 100.8m tall. The trek is approx. 3.7 km, fairly steep, taking ~6 hours round trip.
Enjoy packed lunch by the river. Return to centre, free at leisure, or opt for a guided night walk to spot nocturnal animals.

DANUM VALLEY EXPLORATION & NIGHT WALK
Day 8: DANUM VALLEY
Spend the day exploring with your nature guide. Trails offer birdwatching and wildlife spotting. Fitness level will be considered for longer hikes. Return to centre late evening, freshen up before dinner. After dinner, guided night walk to search for nocturnal wildlife.

Day 9: KOTA KINABALU
DEPARTURE TO KOTA KINABALU & MARI MARI SEPANGGAR
Accommodation (Day 6): Stay at the Belvedere Hotel, a all-inclusive hotel in Agios Ioannis, just across from a pebbly beach with views of the Ionian Sea. It features an outdoor saltwater pool and offers two twin garden-view rooms with three single beds each, including breakfast.
Fly to Kota Kinabalu. Upon arrival, transfer to Jetty for boat to Mari Mari Sepanggar Lodge. Check in, dinner & overnight stay.

HERPING AND SNORKLING AT YOUR LEISURE
Day 10-11: HERPING & SNORKLING

Day 12: KOTA KINABALU
DEPARTURE
After breakfast, enjoy free and easy time at the beach until your departure transfer to Kota Kinabalu International Airport for your flight back to London.

A unique island stay dedicated to turtle conservation, where guests can witness turtle landings and hatchling releases at night. Accommodation is simple but allows for an unforgettable close-to-nature experience.
Kinabatangan Welands Resor
Set along the Kinabatangan River, this resort provides an immersive rainforest experience with opportunities for wildlife cruises and birdwatching. Wooden chalets blend into the mangrove surroundings, offering comfort amidst nature.
Danum Valley Field Centre
A world-renowned research and conservation centre in pristine lowland rainforest. Guests can explore trails teeming with wildlife while staying in basic but authentic accommodations designed for nature immersion.
Mari Mari Sepanggar
A laid-back island retreat just off the coast of Kota Kinabalu, known for its white sandy beaches and snorkeling opportunities. Facilities are simple with shared bathrooms, but the serene island atmosphere makes it a relaxing getaway.
